Happy New Year! SGES teachers gathered this morning to kick off the new quarter with a team building session focused on tools and strategies that form high-performing staff and classroom teams. Thank you to Kansas Teacher of the Year finalist and Art teacher, Erin Pittenger, for leading the group session this morning! Teachers worked hard prepping all day to greet and teach their students upon their return from winter break.
St. George Police Chief Dale Burton joined the SGE Kindergarten this afternoon to teach about railroad safety! The kids enjoyed a Clifford book read by Chief Burton and took some questions.
SGE 4th grade Student Council members assembled for their first meeting of the year to discuss committees and their vision on how to help the school and community this year!

The September Board of Education meeting will be September 6, 2023, at St. George Elementary School. The hearing to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate and the hearing for the Budget for the 2023-24 school year will start at 7 p.m. The regular meeting of the Board of Education will start when the hearings are finished.
Kathleen Paulman, SGES school counselor, and Megan Umscheid, SGES principal, presented at the Kansas School Counselors Association annual conference on March 9 in Topeka! SGES creates daily Morning Meeting videos for students to aid in developing their social and emotional skills.
