Congratulations to our students that made the 2023 RCMS Music Memory Team-Tava Bollig, Landon McCoy, Ava Morgan, Rachel Scriven, and Evan Timm with Avery Mueller as the team alternate! In order for students to be a part of the team, they had to be one of the top 6 scorers on the Music Memory Test that was given during their General Music time. This means, they scored in the top 2% out of the entire 5th and 6th grade class! The team will go and compete at the 2023 Music Memory Competition at Sterling College on Thursday, April 13.
Join us Wednesday, March 22 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the RCMS library for our book fair and family literacy night! There will be popcorn, a book raffle, scavenger hunt and more! We hope to see you there!

Kathleen Paulman, SGES school counselor, and Megan Umscheid, SGES principal, presented at the Kansas School Counselors Association annual conference on March 9 in Topeka! SGES creates daily Morning Meeting videos for students to aid in developing their social and emotional skills.
Congratulations to Liam Brubeck for his performance in the KMEA All-State Middle Level Choir. Only 160/800+ auditioned students are accepted into this choir making Liam one of the top 20% of auditioned singers in the state! Liam was also featured as a select tenor singer for the solo line in one of the pieces performed. Wonderful job, Liam! #rcmsmusicrocks
Congratulations to Emmalynn Dover, Eva Eilders, Harlow Sawyer, and Ellanor Skinner with their fantastic performance at the KMEA All-State Elementary Choir. Overall, 12 students were selected from our district to participate in the Elementary All-State Choir. Only 160/930 auditioned students were accepted and Rock Creek made up 8% of the choir!!! They had a full day of music learning and making. Their performance was absolutely beautiful! #rcmsmusicrocks

RCMS had a fire sprinkler go off in the entry vestibule. There is water in the offices, gym, band-room, and commons area. There was no fire. A big thank you to all the area firefighters and police that were on scene.
District buildings will be closed at 6 pm this evening due to expected weather. All nonessential personnel should be out of the buildings. Please be safe!
