Thanks to the young men from KSU's Farmhouse fraternity for donating time and landscaping skills at WES! Our Wolf (Westy Outdoor Learning Facility) looks great! The boys laid pavers, bench seating, mulch, rock, and turf to help make this a great learning space for our kids. Much appreciated, fellas!
RCHS C-Team VB goes 3-2 and places 2nd at the Wamego C-Team Tournament today as well.
Update from Varsity VB at Wabaunsee. Rock Creek goes 4-1, losing 22-25, 36-34, 22-25 in the final vs NEK. Rock Creek takes 2nd place there with some terrific volleyball being played.

RC, the HS Football Jamboree originally scheduled for Friday, 8/25 at 6:00 pm will now start later in the evening at 7:30 pm.
Thanks to our HS VB team led by Coach Snapp for helping a new crop of KSHSAA officials learn their craft!
Due to forecasted high temperatures and in accordance with the KSHSAA Heat Policy, along with limited gym space, the Rock Creek Middle School Football team will practice from 6:00 a.m. - 7:40 a.m. on Monday (8/21), Tuesday (8/22) and Wednesday (8/23). Further communications for Thursday and Friday will be sent out early next week. The safety of our students is of utmost importance.
Rock Creek MS Cross Country and Volleyball will use indoor facilities at their regular practice times (after school) during these days.

Back to School Night a success! Excitement in the air! Great to see everyone Monday night. It's time for a great school year!
Fill the Mural at SGE! Bring in a family photo to post on the SGE family wall for the year. Photos need to be 4"x6". If you look closely, this is also a graph of our student population. There is a square for each student in each grade level. Pink- preschool students. Red- Kindergarten. Orange - 1st grade (our largest class yet!). Yellow- 2nd grade. Green - 3rd grade. Blue - 4th grade. Purple- SGES family photos! These colors also correspond with the color of the wings in our building. The mural isn't complete until you add your photo!
SGE Back to School Night is Monday night, August 14! We look forward to seeing you! Preschool and Kindergarten from 5:00-6:30pm and First through Fourth grade from 6:00-7:30pm.

Congratulations to our students that made the 2023 RCMS Music Memory Team-Tava Bollig, Landon McCoy, Ava Morgan, Rachel Scriven, and Evan Timm with Avery Mueller as the team alternate! In order for students to be a part of the team, they had to be one of the top 6 scorers on the Music Memory Test that was given during their General Music time. This means, they scored in the top 2% out of the entire 5th and 6th grade class! The team will go and compete at the 2023 Music Memory Competition at Sterling College on Thursday, April 13.
Join us Wednesday, March 22 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the RCMS library for our book fair and family literacy night! There will be popcorn, a book raffle, scavenger hunt and more! We hope to see you there!

Kathleen Paulman, SGES school counselor, and Megan Umscheid, SGES principal, presented at the Kansas School Counselors Association annual conference on March 9 in Topeka! SGES creates daily Morning Meeting videos for students to aid in developing their social and emotional skills.
